NuV Research Network focuses on user-oriented health care for people with chronic conditions and long-term care needs

Early in 2013, the Faculty of Public Health at Bielefeld University and the Institute for Research in Health Care Education and Service – InBVG – at the FH Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences initiated the NuV Research Network pursuing the objective of promoting research competence in young researchers.

NuV is funded by the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Research of the German State of North Rhine-Westphalia. The Research Network is aimed at challenges arising from socio-demographic and epidemiological changes in the field of nursing. These challenges present themselves in areas such as prevention of nursing care needs, existing needs of nursing care and user-oriented shaping of different nursing care services. The Research Network focuses on two main areas:

  • regional disparities in health care
  • health competence and self-management in different stages of chronic illness

These areas are being researched within five project themes with ten individual projects (running time 2013 – 2016).
